Rosha Yaghmai discusses her practice and highlights two important exhibitions: her inclusion in the Made in LA 2018 biennial at the Hammer Museum as well as her 2019 solo-exhibition at the Wattis Institute for Contemporary Art in San Francisco. Yaghmai is primarily a sculptor experimenting with both found and cast materials. Her work is informed by West Coast Conceptualism and is rooted in psychedelic concepts exploring themes of transformation and alienation. She often uses foreignness and estrangement as a way to open the possibility  of a connection to other temporalities.

Rosha Yaghmai: Miraclegrow will be on view at the Wattis Institute January 15 – March 30, 2019. Opening reception: January 15, 6:30-8:30pm.
