Filmed in Venice during the 58th International Art Exhibition, where artist Anthony Hernandez is showing photographs as part of the ‘May You Live in Interesting Times,’ Hernandez discusses his early influences growing up in Los Angeles.

"When I was a kid, the only thing I actually remember doing was walking, looking, exploring my neighbourhood." Photography, Hernandez explains, was a way of being inspired.

Hernandez describes the works on show in Ralph Rugoff’s exhibition in Venice as well as his solo show at Los Angeles’s Kayne Griffin Corcoran: "I haven’t had a solo show in LA for more than a decade. I always think of LA as my big studio, so I think it’s going to be a really, really important show for me."
